The Boys’ Brigade Motto is:
‘Sure & Steadfast’
The motto is taken from the bible, the book of Hebrews, Chapter 6, Verse 19.
The Object of The Boys’ Brigade is:
“The advancement of Christ’s kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness.”
Anchors Section
This age group (p1 – p3) has its own programme called Anchors based on five areas; body, mind, spirit, community and creativity. The emphasis is on fun and programme activities include games, crafts, stories and opportunities to learn and share in new experiences. Throughout their time in the Anchors Section, children can gain badges and recognition for their participation in the programme.

Juniors Section
This age group (P4 – P6) has its own programme called Juniors based on five areas; body, mind, spirit, community and creativity. The programme provides challenges, adventure and opportunities to learn and grow. The fun and engaging programme enables the children to work in a team and take more responsibility. Juniors also get the opportunity to go on camps and residential trips, and for some this will be their first night away from home. Throughout their time in the Juniors Section, children can gain badges and recognition for their participation in the programme.

Company Section
This age group (P7 +) has its own programme called ‘Discover’ based on three areas; community, recreation and skills. Young people get the chance to develop existing skills and learn new ones, through a fun, balanced and challenging programme of activities. Young people are encouraged to have a say and help shape their own programme. They can get involved in anything from helping others in their local community to playing sports, trying out adventure activities or being creative through dance or art – there’s something for everyone! There are also opportunities to go away on camps and residentials, which are often the highlights in the annual programme.

Springfield Cambridge Church Guild
The Church of Scotland Guild is a movement within the Church of Scotland which invites and encourages both women and men to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and enables them to express their faith in worship, prayer and action. With around 20,000 members, the Guild is one of Scotland’s largest voluntary organisation. Although women make up the bulk of our membership, increasingly, men are becoming members and taking active roles at local and national levels. The Guild’s motto which is taken from Acts 27, verse 23: ‘Whose we are and Whom we serve.’
The Guild meet every 2nd Monday between September until April.
Girls’ Brigade
65th Glasgow Company
The Girls’ Brigade Motto is:
“Seek, Serve and Follow Christ”
Explorer Section
Explorers is the first section on the GB journey. Girls join from P1 and stay for 3 years until the end of P3. Making friends and having fun are key to girls of this age but GB offers new challenges through games, craft, physical activities and storytelling.
Junior Section
Juniors start at P4 and this part of their GB journey takes them through to the end of P7. Girls are encouraged to explore the world around them while building on their inter-personal skills. Their award programme offers a wide variety of challenging topics along with other areas such as games, music and drama.
Brigader Section
Brigaders run from S1 to S6 and follow a programme designed to challenge them on every level – ability, belief, social responsibility, community engagement. There are many opportunities open to young women at this stage of their GB journey and it is definitely the case that the Brigader section offers something for everyone!
